Die Serie Intrinsic ist eine Zusammenstellung von Werken, die in den letzten Jahren entstanden sind. Sie besteht aus einer Komposition ausgewählter Einzelbilder, die fotografischen Serien entnommen und neu kontextualisiert wurden. Gefunden und gesammelt habe ich diese Motive zuhause und unterwegs, in Natur- und Stadtlandschaften, wo zurückgelassene Objekte und gefundene organische wie auch anorganische skulpturale Gebilde aller Art auf “unbedachtes” menschliches Handeln verweisen, wo Statisches auf Dynamisches und Öffentliches auf Privates trifft. Kurzum, es ist das alltägliche Treibgut im Hier und Jetzt. Dabei nehme ich diese Objekte nicht in Besitz, sondern nehme Kontakt mit ihnen auf und versuche, sie zu verstehen. Es ist eine Reflexion über die Autonomie der abgebildeten Objekte, deren Realität sich aus den Wahrnehmungen und Assoziationen des Betrachters und seinen emotionalen und intellektuellen Verbindungen mit ihnen ergibt.
Sie spiegeln eine allgemeine, aber persönliche Sicht auf die Welt wider.
Sven Wolfgang ist ein in Berlin lebender Fotograf. Seine Arbeit beschäftigt sich mit unserer Wahrnehmung von Dingen, die wir in Natur- und Stadtlandschaften entdecken, mit verlassenen Objekten und ungewollt entstandenen “Skulpturen”, organischen wie anorganischen. Kurzum, es sind die Ergebnisse unbedachter Handlungen von Menschen, das Treibgut der heutigen Welt, die ihn faszinieren und seine Bilder beleben.
2009, nach seiner Ausbildung zum Mediengestalter zog von Leipzig nach Berlin, um Film zu studieren, während des Studiums entdeckte er seine Faszination für die Fotografie und begann ein Mentoring im Atelier eines Berliner Künstlers, wo er sich das Handwerk der analogen Fotografie aneignete. Seit 2019 studiert er an der Neuen Schule für Fotografie, wo er nun seine Abschlussarbeit vorbereitet. Seit 2014 arbeitet er freiberuflicher Fotograf.
The series Intrinsic is a compilation of works created in recent years consisting of a recontextualized selected images from different photographic series. I found and collected these motifs both home and on the road, in natural and urban landscapes, where abandoned objects and found organic and inorganic sculptural formations of all kinds ensue from “careless” human actions – where static meets dynamic and public meets private. In short, it is the flotsam in the here and now of our everyday lives.
In doing so, I do not take possession of these objects, but rather make contact with them and try to understand them. It is a reflection on the autonomy of the objects depicted, the reality of which arises from the perceptions and associations of the viewer and his emotional and intellectual connections with them.
They embody a general but also a personal view of the world.
Sven Wolfgang is a Berlin-based photographer. His work concerns itself with our perceptions of things discovered in natural and city landscapes, abandoned objects as well as unintentionally formed “sculptures”, organic as well as inorganic. In short, it is the results of unthinking actions by people, the flotsam and jetsam of the contemporary world, that fascinate him and animate his images.
In 2009, after training as a media designer he moved from Leipzig to Berlin to study film, during his studies he discovered his fascination for photography and began mentoring in the studio of a Berlin artist where he became proficient in analog photography skills. In 2019 he started the Neue Schule für Fotografie, where he is now preparing his final degree work project. He has been working as a freelance photographer since 2014.
